What to expect from a Jessner or Vivier Professional Peel:
Patients may experience a slight stinging or heat sensation as the treatment activates on the skin Frosting of the skin may occur.
Skin may become red due to erythema.
Skin may begin to peel approximately 48 hours after the treatment and may last up to five days. The amount of sloughing experienced will vary depending on the preparation of the skin, the condition of the patient’s skin and the home care products used.
The amount of peeling observed is not an indication of the effectiveness of the treatment.
Complete Contraindications:
Active cold sores, warts or lesions, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea or who are wounded or sunburned in the area to be treated.
History of allergies to salicylates like aspirin.
Patients who have taken Accutane® within the past 6 to 12 months.
Patients who have received chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
·Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Patients with active vitiligo in the area to be treated.
Patients with a history of an autoimmune disease (such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, etc.) or any condition that may weaken their immune system (such as diabetes).
Patients with excessive irritation, rash or other reactions to the patch test
